What you actually need to know

Guest capacity

Up to 250, with chairs and round tables for that many included. One earlier listing quoted 240, so confirm the number when you book, but either way this is a genuinely large room.

Ceremony sites

The lodge indoors, or the park outdoors. Morgan Creek is a Linn County park with open ground and woodland, so an outdoor ceremony is a matter of choosing a spot and asking, rather than a built ceremony site with a permanent arch.

Reception spaces

One enclosed lodge, which means no room flip and no second space. Plan a ceremony and reception that can share a room, or hold the ceremony outside and walk in.

Getting ready

Changing rooms are part of the building, which is more than most park facilities offer. Ask what they actually look like, since a changing room and a getting ready suite are not the same thing and the difference matters to your morning photographs.

If it rains

The lodge is enclosed and heated and cooled, so weather costs you an outdoor ceremony rather than the day. That is a stronger rain plan than most venues at ten times the price.

What it costs

$900 per day Friday through Sunday and on holidays, $500 on weekdays, plus a $300 cleanup and damage deposit. Fifteen percent off three consecutive days, booked by phone rather than online. A beer keg permit is $25. Reservations are non-refundable, which is stated plainly on the county fee schedule and is a real risk to weigh.

What's included

The building, kitchen, restrooms, changing rooms, heating and air conditioning, and chairs and round tables for up to 250. Everything else is yours to arrange, which is precisely why the number is what it is.

Parking

A county park car park, free and plentiful. Send guests a pin, because park roads are easier to miss than street addresses.

Where guests stay

None on site. Cedar Rapids is close, so hotels are a short drive, and a ten o'clock finish means nobody is driving home very late.

End of night

Check in after 7:00am, check out before 10:00pm. Fifteen hours is generous for setup and teardown and the ten o'clock end is early for a reception, so build the evening backward from it. The lodge is also closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year's Eve and Day.

Vendor rules

There is a kitchen and no in house caterer, so bring your own. Alcohol works on a $25 keg permit rather than a bar package. Confirm the current rules directly, since a county facility's policies are set by the board rather than by a sales team and can change between seasons.

Worth knowing early: Two things. The ten o'clock checkout is the earliest hard end in this guide, so if you want dancing until midnight this is the wrong building. And it is new: opening late summer or early autumn 2026, with no weddings behind it yet. You will be finding out things nobody can tell you, from how the acoustics behave with two hundred and fifty people in it to where the light falls at seven in the evening. Go and stand in it before you book, at roughly the hour your reception would be happening.
