The Story
Some couples rent a venue. Christine and Phil got married on land their family has worked for generations — and every photograph carries that weight.
There's a particular kind of wedding that only happens on family land: the ceremony sited where the light is best because Dad knows exactly where that is, tables from three farmhouses, and a dance floor under the same stars the family has always known.
Christine and Phil's day outside Iowa City was that wedding. My job was to stay out of the way and see it clearly — the fields at golden hour, the porch conversations, the sense that this celebration belonged to this place and no other.
